| (Senior) Principal Scientist – Toxicopathology |

Your Role: For our preclinical safety pathology group in Colleretto Giacosa, Italy, we are seeking an engaged and passionate pathologist, guided by excellence in preclinical safety, with a keen interest in immune system pathology and a strong collaborative mindset. A robust commitment to generating and interpreting valuable pathology data in preclinical safety studies for risk assessment of our potential drug candidates is required. Professional experience in pathology groups of contract research organizations, pharmaceutical or chemical companies is highly valued.
Your responsibilities:
- Conduct and/or supervise necropsies of non-rodents and rodents and recognize, describe and interpret findings at necropsy.
- Lead complex microscopic evaluation and interpretation of tissue sections from animals exposed to test materials and correlate these findings with necropsy, organ weight and clinical pathology findings.
- Perform peer reviews and provide experienced pathology support in the interpretation of drug-related findings.
- Represent Chemical and Preclinical Safety in the global research and development teams and during due diligence for in- and out-licensing as a subject matter expert.
- Contribute to authoring scientific manuscripts and deliver presentations at internal and external venues.
Who you are:
- DVM/VMD degree or equivalent
- Board certification by the European or the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (DECVP or DACVP)
- Formal pathology residency or graduate studies (i.e. MS, PhD) at an institution in which the training of veterinary pathologists is a primary function
- Broad background in toxicological pathology
- Strong interest in immunotoxicology
- Ability to work independently and within teams
- Strong collaborative and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English language
